Winter Camp

For the past seven months our team culture has grown to be full of dedication, determination, and hard work. With an atmosphere where every skater feels motivated to take on every challenge the team has pushed past limits and setbacks. This was our plan since the start of the season and we have followed through by showing up to every practice determined, especially when practices run for full days. With many long practices our skating skills have improved tremendously and it is when we feel most tired we remind each other to push the hardest. Hard and focused work has taken our progress higher than expected at this early point of the season.

This week we completed a long training camp with 31 hours of on-ice as well as off-ice work, ballet and strength training in preparation for our upcoming competitions. Next up is Sweden! We will be competing at the Leon Lurje Trophy for The United States of America. To prepare for our trip, our team will be meeting with a Swedish international student who goes to the University of Michigan. This undergraduate student will be able to answer our questions about Sweden and we are very excited to learn more about Swedish culture before our trip! It is an honor to be apart of Team USA and it is so exciting to be stepping on international ice in just two weeks!

Good luck and go Team USA!
